What's SpendLess Daw ?
SpendLess Daw is a music project manager that works alongside your DAW.
It is designed to facilitate the management, sharing, and identification of your projects (see below), and is intended to be used as a launcher.
The application links directly to your projects to extract, read, and modify the contained information (such as BPM, genre, title, creation date, working time, etc.)
SpendLess features numerous tools to ease searching, filtering, exporting, and instant project creation using your predefined settings.
Better visual identity
Each project has an icon/color pair.
This makes it much easier to differentiate them through visual memory.
When a fast project is created, the pair is random, creating a unique, easily recognizable project that you can modify later.
If this system does not suit you, you have the option to add a cover or even a gif to your project, making customization limitless.
Audio Preview
In the same way as for custom covers, you have the option to add an audio file to your project.
This allows you to simply export your work, link it to your project, and then play the preview using the player integrated into the application.
If you export your project directly via SpendLess, regardless of the initial format, an MP3 format will also be rendered and placed at the root of the project, automatically making the audio preview available.
Archives
In addition to managing your projects, SpendLess also manages your archives.
With a single click, you can compress and move your projects in two different formats:
The .spend format, which retains the project settings such as the icon, color, cover, and audio preview.
And the zip format, which keeps only the essentials of the project.
Share and Export
With SpendLess, you can export your projects in audio format, zip format, or spend format.
The spend format is a compressed file format specific to SpendLess, allowing two people working with the application to exchange projects while retaining their settings and ensuring the proper transmission of samples.
Secure Samples
SpendLess retrieves the locations of all samples used in a project and copies them into a "Samples" subfolder.
It updates the project with the new sample locations, preventing your DAW from losing their paths, and moves unused samples to the trash to conserve space.
This ensures that your samples are not sensitive to path changes.
Soft Backup
To secure the use of SpendLess, soft backups of your project will be created before each application process.
This means that the vast majority of soft backups will be versions of your project last processed by your DAW itself.
